“Take it or leave it,”
They tell me.
Take what?
A golden brick,
Tethered to my ankle?
No thanks,
I don’t want it.
I never wanted it.
Your superficial pride
Has never been enough.

That may depend on your definition of significant. We are not well matched intellectually and I fear this is too much of an issue for me. I care for him immensely but I am a terrible girlfriend. It is about time for things to end between us.
At the moment my favorite author would have to be the lovely Charlotte Brontë. I doubt I will stand by this opinion any later than it is shared with the world. I am merely fourteen and indecisive at that. My tastes will change duly.
Whisper to me your fears and your hesitations.
Scream at me your hatreds and your frustrations.

One cold summer night I’ll take your hand in mine and pull you to my side. We’ll be one heart, one soul, one mind. I’ll be your Jekyll and you’ll be my Hyde. As the summer fades away you’ll crawl into my arms to stay. I’ll hold you there and sing you the song that you have yearned for all along. I’ll sing the lullaby of the birds, I’ll sing a song only the stars have heard. It too will fade with time, oh, my sweet lullaby. But the tune will soon renew, as such things always do. The leaves will fall, the snow will follow, and flowers will bloom beneath the Hollow. When the sweet song is sung once more, then of my love you’ll forever be sure.
Sometimes I feel empty
So I look up to the sky
She beckons me to come closer
I sit patiently on her thigh
And when I look at her
And feel a growing light inside
I am familiar with her every thought
I watch her doubts subside
